In a world where social, economic and racial issues remain in the forefront of human evolution, “The Hunger Games: “Catching Fire” makes for great fun with a deeper subconscious message. If you were a fan of the first installment of this great franchise, then you will not be disappointed with “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”.
Evil might be defined by some as the gross misuse of power. Especially when it is used for the senseless destruction of creation. Bullying is a popular term of late where young people are concerned. In “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” we see the flagrant misuse of power when segments of the population are forced to live in segregation subject to the whims of the elite class and government.
The primary recreation of the elite government and it’s people is controlling who lives and dies within the lower working class communities. This is a frightening fantasy. The middle class has been eradicated and only the mighty enjoy freedoms and luxury while the working poor remain essentially enslaved.
The annual creating of child wars, where only the child most clever and able in combat is allowed to survive is what keeps the ruling class entertained. However it is, as always, the ethical struggle of the able and reasonable souls, on all fronts, who give us hope. The faith that these brave few will succeed to bring about better conditions reflects our real world communities efforts.
This installment of “The Hunger Games” is a welcome treat when giving thanks and being grateful fuel the season. “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” now open in theaters everywhere.
