“Barbie Boy” is a delightful short exploring a modern family’s take on a young boy’s identity choices.
Young Bobby (Trent Carton) seven years of age, loves to play with Barbie and Ken dolls.
His father (William Kidd), being a modern dad, is trying to gently instruct Bobby that dolls are for girls, and the other boys might not understand.
His mother (Lauren Dobbins Webb), on the other hand, finds nothing out of line and in fact encourages Bobby’s fantasy.

Bobby’s struggle in coming to understand the society he’s becoming a part of is, while at times disturbing, very enlightening.
Storytellers, Nick and Mickey Corporon, give us a glimpse into a very positive side of Bobby’s evolved point of view and a suggested bit of guidance to future parents .
